Levi Damon Jr.
MENTMORE — Funeral services for Levi Damon Jr., 42, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, at Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel, Gallup. Daniel Castro will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.
Damon died Monday, May 23, in Flagstaff. He was born Jan. 22, 1969, in Tuba City, into the One Who Walks Around People Clan for the Honey Comb Rock People Clan.
Damon graduated from Gallup High in 1988, and received his CDL certificiate in Crownpoint. He worked for Bulk Trans truck driver, fuel tanker in Lupton, Salt Lake City, Winslow, Holbrook, Roswell, Socorro, Santa Fe, Moriarty and Wyoming. He did drywall, silversmith work, construction and Eagle Ready mix. His hobbies included fishing, camping, hiking, welding, working on trucks, joking and playing pranks on others.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Damon of Mentmore; son, Lance Levi Damon of Avondale; daughter, Mercedes Lane Kirk of El Paso, Texas; mother, Mary J. Lee of Coal Mine; brothers, Bobby Lee Jr. of Coal Mine, Dwayne Lee of Coal Mine, Matthew Lee of Gallup; sisters, Renee Lee, Kimberly Le, Amanda Lee, all of Coal Mine, Cheryl Lee of Gallup, Pam Owens.
Damon was preceded in death by Levi Damon Sr., Mary Alice Peterson.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Lee, Lance Damon, Calvin Peterson, Darryl DuBoise, Dwayne Lee, Tim Ishmel, James Peterson.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Jeffrey and Helen Castillo’s residence, Mentmore, following services.

Gwendolyn Gonzalez
CHINLE — Funeral services are pending for Gwendolyn Faye Gonzalez, 42.
Gonzalez died May 25, 2011, in Tucson. She was born March 25, 1969, in Crownpoint.
A family gathering will be 6 p.m., May 28-30.

Mary Mitchell
CHINLE — Graveside service for Mary Jones Mitchell, 83, will be 10 a.m., Monday, May 30, in family plot, Chinle. The Rev. Constance Mactintosh will officiate. Burial will be in family plot, Chinle. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., May 30, before burial.
Mitchell died May 26, 2011, in Chinle. She was born May 22, 1929, in Chinle, into the Bitterwater People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.
Mitchell was a retiree from Chinle Boarding School kitchen in Many Farms for 32 years.
Survivors include her two sons; three daughters; parnets, Negleshasbah Anna Jones, Howard Jones; brother, Louis Jones; 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul E. Jones, Harold Evan, Theordore Evens, William S. Jones; sisters, Jessie Gorman, Francis Rose June.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will receive relatives and friends at NHA Redwood Housing #58, Friday-Sunday evening. The family will meet at Chinle Trinity Presbyterian Fellowship, following services.

Nathaniel Roanhorse
SANDERS — Memorial services for Nathaniel Jesse Roanhorse, 19, will be 11 a.m., Monday, May 30, at Fellowship Christian Reform Church, 4800 Indian School Road, Albuquerque.
Roanhorse died May 26, 2011, in Albuquerque. He was born April 15, 1992, in Fort Defiance,, into the Edge Water People Clan for the Streaking Running into the Water People Clan.
Roanhorse was a senior at Highlands High School, Albuquerque. He also attended Valley High School, Sanders. He was employed by Supporting Hands in Albuquerque. He was on the high school football team and wrestling team. Roanhorse enjoyed snow boarding and working on cars.
Survivors include his parents, Stephen and Nancy Roanhorse of Sanders; sisters, Raina, Rachelle, Rashawna, Tessia, all of Albuquerque, Rebecca Samaniego of Honolulu, Hawaii; brothers, Jesiah, David, both of Sanders; grandmothers, Annie Lee Yazzie of Pine Springs, Hester Rhodes of Austin, Minn.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Fellowship Christian Reform Church, following services.

Oscar Scott
RABBIT BRUSH — Services for Oscar Scott, 64, will be 10 a.m., May 31, at Good Shephard Mission, Fort Defiance. The Rev. Chon Anaya will officiate. Burial will be in Fort Defiance Community Cemetery. Visitation will be at 9 a.m.
Scott died May 25, 2011, in Rabbit Brush. He was born May 20, 1947, in Sheepsprings, into the Red Running Into the Water People Clan for the Black Streak Wood People Clan.
Scott graduated from Gallup High School and attended Roswell University. He worked with the Navajo Nation Zoo and with the Navajo Forest Products Industry where he retired. He was also a volunteer firefighter in previous years.
Survivors include his step-father, George Etsitty of Rabbit Brush; brothers, Alfred Scott of St. Michaels, Bobby Scott Sr. of Navajo; sisters, Lucinda Scott of Rabbit Brush, Louise Shirley of Old Coal Mine, Virginia Scott of Fort Defiance, Maybell Scott of Navajo.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Tachene Scott, Hoskie Scott; sisters, Mabel Begay, Anita Scott; brother, Ernest Scott.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Shirley, Jarrell Shirley, Max Begay, Terry Begay.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Good Shephard Mission Dorm Building, Fort Defiance, following services.

Delinda Yazzie
CANONCITO — Services for Delinda A. Yazzie, 50, will be 10 a.m., Monday, May 30, at Baptist Church, Canoncito. Burial will be in family plot. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday, May 29, at Salazar and Son Mortuary, Albuquerque.
Yazzie died Monday, May 23, 2011. She was born Nov. 2, 1960.
Yazzie grew up in Las Cruces where she went to school. She later worked at Bowlin’s Trading Post as a customer service representative and later worked on artifacts and arts and crafts in Grants and Thoreau. In her later years she became a homemaker and concentrated on her family.
Survivors include her husband, Casz Abeita Sr.; son, Casz Abeita Jr.; daughters, Caszlinda Abeita, Alyssa Peralto; brothers, Harry Yazzie, Raymond Yazzie, Daniel Yazzie; sisters, Francis Yazzie, Pauline Yazzie, Yvette V. Ganadonegro, Yvonne V. Delgarito; parents, Cecil Yazzie of Prewitt, Ruth C. Delgarito of Tohajiilee.
Yazzie was preceded in death by her sister, Yoli V. Delgarito.
Pallbearers will be Waiko Ganadonegro, Marcus Yazzie, Robert Townsend Jr., Wayne Edsitty, Gary Purley, Merle Yazzie, Jerome Yazzie, Raymond Willis, Toby Edsitty, Eddie Pablo.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Canoncito Chapter House, following services.
